Students will have the opportunity to explore the concept of genocide and its impact on the modern world through examples drawn from the 20th century.
In this workshop students will develop an understanding of the origins of the legal definition of genocide and the debates surrounding this definition. Focus will be placed on the early stages of genocide, particularly the segregation, marginalisation, and dehumanisation of victim groups.
Students will be encouraged to explore the moral dilemmas of victims and bystanders.
