SJM is currently closed to the public during redevelopment. Our education programs continue at a temporary location. Please visit our Learning pages for information and to book.
The Sydney Jewish Museum is embarking on a major redevelopment project which will enable us to significantly expand and enhance our programs and exhibitions. As a result, the Museum will be closed in 2026. However, when we reopen in 2027, we will welcome many more visitors, teachers and school groups. Although our museum site is currently under reconstruction and closed to the public, we continue to provide school groups with quality, impactful and curriculum-linked educational programs at a nearby temporary location. Bookings are available from 9am to 4pm every weekday except Friday. We can also design bespoke online sessions to meet your needs.
We offer two-hour and three-hour excursions (full-day excursions available upon special request), both online and via Zoom. These sessions include talks from Holocaust survivors, a guided tour of the Museum and curriculum-linked workshops covering a range of topics including History, English, Studies of Religion, Legal Studies and more.

For Primary School students, we offer two-hour and three-hour engaging excursions that include age-appropriate talks from Holocaust survivors, a guided tour of the Museum and curriculum-linked workshops with expert educators covering a range of topics including migration, human rights, Judaism and the Holocaust.

We offer practical, interactive sessions to support and enhance your teaching including NESA accredited Professional Development. In 2025 we will be offering teacher training online delivered by our highly skilled educators – continuing to ensure best practice teacher training in both Holocaust and Studies of Religion.
