In this online talk, Susan Kadar, the translator of Dr Andor Kӓmpfner’s Holocaust journal, will share insight into her discoveries from one of the early voices to record the horrific experiences of the Holocaust.
In his diary, Andor, a Hungarian Holocaust survivor, evocatively writes about his journey from his home to the ghetto, deportation in a cattle wagon, Auschwitz, the death march, Buchenwald and, finally, liberation.
This talk will feature a reading of excerpts from the journal, as well as memories shared by his wife.
