History Live: Book Week 2024

$0.00

Tuesday 29 August
2pm – 2.45pm

FREE

Suitable for Years 5 – 6.

This year’s Book Week theme Reading is Magic, reminds us of the powerful, inspiring and transformative experiences reading can provide – how a good book gives us a better understanding of our own world. Our museum tells stories of survival, resilience and hope for the future, many of our survivors have written books about their experiences, and numerous works of fiction are set against a Holocaust backdrop.

Renowned author Jackie French, who has written about many topics, including the Holocaust, joins us for a Q&A to talk about how she writes, what inspires her and what we can all learn from reading widely.

Then join one of our curators to look at some fascinating books from the Museum’s collection and investigate the stories behind them. Students might even discover some ideas about their own writing!

Event Duration: 45 minutes.
