SKU: 4f1780d09a30. Category: .

Tuesday 13 June
2.00pm – 2.45pm

Online for Stage 3

It is written in the bible that God rested on the seventh day, and the fourth commandment instructs us to ‘remember the Sabbath and keep it holy’. But how exactly are we to remember it? And what does ‘keep it holy’ actually mean? Shabbat begins Friday sunset and finishes on Saturday night – and is filled with food, symbols, ceremonies and celebrations that form an integral part of Jewish religious and cultural life.

The Sydney Jewish Museum invites your primary students to a complimentary live and interactive Shabbat workshop, facilitated by a Museum Educator. This 45-minute online program will introduce students to the ceremonies and symbolism associated with this important tradition.
