Product Description
Born during the second world war of Jewish parents escaping Nazi persecution, Maria was conceived in Belgium and born in France and was hidden from the Nazis, both in France and in Switzerland, eventually migrating to Australia to start a new life and escape anti-Semitism. In Australia she found that it had already travelled across the continents, ahead of her and she would have to deal with it here also.
Maria’s dream of becoming a doctor needed to overcome some obstacles before becoming reality in Australia. This was a struggle, requiring perseverance and the love and support of friends for its attainment, and in this foster mother played a vital role.
