A documentary showcasing the life and loves of the irrepressible Wanda Sieradzka.
A Holocaust survivor, journalist, poet and savant, Wanda wrote the lyrics to many popular Polish songs including the hit “Nie płacz, kiedy odjadę“. Created in 1961, the song resonated with generations of Poles and was one of the greatest hits of the ‘60s.
Slawomir Grünberg (Karski & The Lords of Humanity) interviews Wanda’s family and friends, piecing together a picture of Sieradzka’s fascinating and uneasy life.
Wanda’s son Ziggy will be on hand to answer questions after the screening.
