Maryla Michalowski-Dyamant was born in Poland and survived Ravensbruck, Malchow, and Auschwitz, where she was the forced translator of the “Angel of Death”, Dr Josef Mengele. She dedicated her post-war life to speaking of her survival in the hope it would never be forgotten or repeated.

This award-winning documentary film is directed by Serena Dykman, the granddaughter of Maryla. In Nana, Serena and her mother Alice explore how Maryla’s fight against intolerance continues today, in a world where Holocaust survivors are disappearing and intolerance, racism and antisemitism are on the rise.
