A table is more than a place to eat – it’s where stories are shared, traditions are passed down and communities come together.
As part of our upcoming B’teavon: Jewish Food exhibition that explores Jewish food culture and the many ways we gather around the table, we’re inviting our community to help bring this exhibition to life.
We are calling out for submissions to donate individual dining chairs in a range of eclectic styles that capture the character and history of the homes and gatherings they came from.
We are also looking for a diverse mix of table and serving ware such as challah boards and covers, kiddush cups, serving bowls and utensils and candle sticks – used for Shabbat dinners. These will be glued or screwed to the table and touched by visitors, so please consider this in choosing what you offer to donate (nothing too precious please).
Submissions via the form below close on 30 September 2026. The SJM Curatorial Team will review all submissions and notify successful contributors during October.
Optional: If you have a story connected to your item, we’d love to hear it. Memories and experiences behind these objects may help us tell a more personal and meaningful story.
If you would like to take part, please send us photos and measurements of your item/s.
SUBMISSIONS CLOSE 30 SEPTEMBER 2026.
