In an exciting development, some of Australia’s foremost leaders in human rights have signed up to work with Sydney Jewish Museum on our new exhibition.
As my colleague Marie Bonardelli described in a previous blog post, the Museum is working on an app to enhance visitors’ experiences of the permanent exhibition. The app, called Voices, will use innovative technology to deliver audio content to visitors at various points throughout the Museum. It is our hope that the app will encourage different and deeper understandings of the exhibits on display.
A small group of high-profile Australians have recently agreed to lend us their voices by contributing to the app. This diverse group of leaders works across domestic and international spheres to improve the lives of women, men and children everywhere, by ensuring the fullest possible realisation of their fundamental rights. Each one of these champions has made a significant contribution to human rights in their particular area of interest or expertise.
With their contribution, Voices will now weave seminal words about human rights throughout the exhibition, adding a fresh and thought-provoking perspective to our displays. The inclusion of human rights voices will enrich the exhibition with a new dimension that is simultaneously contemporary and timeless, both Australian and universal, and bridges a gap between past and future.
