Community Call-out: Help shape a new Museum display

Do you have chairs or tableware to spare? They could be part of an exhibition in the new Museum that will explore Jewish food and how we gather around the table.

When SJM reopens there will be a host of new exhibitions about Jewish life and culture, in addition to our Holocaust and military history exhibitions.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

For our planned B’teavon: Jewish Food exhibition we are looking for donations of:

  • Dining chairs – in many eclectic styles
  • Tableware will become part of a permanent display – fixed or glued to the table – so no precious items please!

If you have a story associated with your item/s please share it with SJM.

If you would like to take part, please fill in the form below and submit by the end of September with the requested measurements and photos. You will be notified in October if your item/s have been selected.

PHOTO INSTRUCTIONS

1) Please photograph your chair/s from above showing the seat details and from front-on showing the whole chair.

2) Please send a photo of your Shabbat item/s that clearly shows the size and shape. (Hint: Place an item like a food can or similar standard size item next to yours as a reference of size). In the form please provide approximate length, width and height dimensions.
