This lesson addresses the rise of Nazism, examining the relevant events, and questioning the fragility of democracy in the face of crisis.

This lesson addresses the rise of the Nazi Party. It acknowledges the particular context of Germany after World War I, and considers the main events on the timeline of Hitler’s rise to power. Students will consider issues of cause and effect and will assess the relationship between the failures of democracy and the rise of authoritarianism.
