This online talk was the second of a series of five talks which aim to take a deep dive into the question of ‘what is human rights?’ and the big human rights topics that we face in Australia in 2020; health, racism, and the media.
In this talk, we will hear from Australia Director at Human Rights Watch Elaine Pearson, Producer of ABC’s ‘You Can’t Ask That’ Kirk Docker, and Bus Stop Films Co-Founder Genevieve Clay-Smith.
Elaine, Kirk and Genevieve will discuss the media’s role in human rights and some of the regulatory issues facing the media industry today. They will also explore the role social media plays and how we ‘consume’ media related to human rights.
