This lesson uses a case study based on the White Rose Movement to examine resistance during the Holocaust – its existence and its consequences.

In this lesson, students learn about Hans and Sophie Scholl and their work with the White Rose Movement. Students will explore the existence of resistance, and the consequences of resisting the Nazi regime. Students will consider issues of personal agency and responsibility. They will engage with a video resource, as well as various forms of primary source material.
