The Sydney Jewish Museum is proud to launch The Writing on the Wall by Juliet Rieden, the story of an Australian journalist’s quest to uncover the tragic Holocaust history of her father and his family.
Her journey begins with a visit to the Pinkas Synagogue in Prague, where she finds the Rieden name repeated many times over on the walls. What she uncovers from there leads her to Theresienstadt and Auschwitz, where she traces the fate of her grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Meticulously researched and beautifully told, this is the story of a woman’s quest to make sense of her father and his determination to forge a life of connection and purpose from a childhood marred by so much loss
Juliet is currently Editor-At-Large at The Australian Women’s Weekly, where she also works as the Royal Correspondent and the Books Editor.
To launch the book Juliet will be in conversation with Dame Quentin Alice Louise Bryce AD, CVO, the Governer-General of Australia from 2008 to 2014.
This is a free event but bookings are essential.
