Call-Out For Museum Guides

Volunteer guides bring history to life within the Sydney Jewish Museum, and are the voices of the objects, images and stories in our exhibitions.

The Sydney Jewish Museum is seeking new, committed volunteer guides with a passion for history and education to complete the training course and share their knowledge with groups of students and adults in the Museum’s exhibitions.

Every year more than 50,000 school students and visitors come through the Museum. It is our aim for every visitor to have a meaningful experience in our exhibitions, engaging with the objects and stories. We do this by focusing on objects and personal stories within the broader history of the Holocaust and Judaism. We aim to provide our visitors with a unique perspective they can’t get elsewhere.

Guides are the transmitters of these stories. They take small groups to designated displays for 1 hour. During this time guides share their knowledge and stories in line with the Museum’s education philosophy.
