Bobba Knows Best: Snapshots of Grandma
Nana, Nonna, Bobba, Buba, Savta, Granny, Grammy, Grand-Mère, Babushka, Nagymama, Babcia.
Whatever you may call her, the Sydney Jewish Museum invites the community share their fondest photographs and memories of Grandma. (Grandpa – you’re next!)
Whether she is passing down family traditions, teaching life lessons, knitting, crocheting, sharing, caring, running or jumping, cooking, baking and feeding, we want to know more about how your matriarchs nurture and care for you in the form of photographs.
At the curators’ discretion, the most moving submissions will take pride of place on the Museum’s mantelpiece in the upcoming exhibition, ‘Bobba Knows Best: Snapshots of Grandma’.
The curators invite home-captured, amateur and intimate photographs from across Sydney, taken with love. Send in your highest resolution images with a touching story or moving memory by 31 May to give Grandma the honour she deserves.
For more information or to submit photographs, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call our curators on 9360 7999.
Our Grammy crochets special blankets for all her kids and grandchildren. We each feel warm and special sitting together wrapped in our own blanket. Asher loves snuggling with his so much that he has bestowed it with the name ‘Blank’. – Shannon Biederman
This exhibition is inspired by ‘Love & Legacy’ at the Jewish Museum of Australia, Melbourne.
