There is no doubt that the Nazi Party can be considered one of the historical forces that shaped the modern world. But, who were the Nazis, what did they believe and where did their ideas actually come from?
By situating the NSDAP within a broader intellectual history, this seminar will demonstrate those areas in which the National Socialists were radical and those areas in which they were part of a general, global trend. By considering where the Nazi ideology came from and how it spread, this seminar will begin to consider the significant patterns of continuity and change in the development of the modern world.
