The Sydney Jewish Museum is a unique space; whilst we speak to history, we are first and foremost a space to remember and memorialise, Zachor. Our Sanctum of Remembrance is a space where Holocaust survivors and their families can place a plaque to remember those who were lost during the Shoah, many of whom do not have a gravesite. Some have also chosen to honour those who assisted in their own survival or that of a loved one.
In this very special lecture, we discuss the Sanctum and the role of the Museum as a space to memorialise.
This webinar will be hosted by Museum Educator Sandy Hollis in conversation with Rita Prager and members of the Sydney Jewish Museum who have chosen to place a plaque in Sanctum of Remembrance.
