The mourning process in Judaism reaffirms the belief in God and the acceptance that it is God who is the true judge of when life begins and ends. The treatment of the person who is dying and the mourning ritual are designed to reflect the principal beliefs of Judaism and to comfort the mourner. This seminar will examine the practice of death and mourning and how it reflects the principal beliefs of the tradition.
