Address the impact of dictatorships on society, and that of the Nazis on life in Germany in particular. By considering the various methods used by the Nazis to both gain and maintain control, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the experiences of youth, women and minorities within the totalitarian state.
Ultimately, it is only when we understand the elimination of individual freedoms that we can best appreciate the various forms of resistance to the Nazis, and the importance of that resistance in understanding the impact of the regime on life in Germany.
