Product Description
The new year 11 unit Investigating Modern History: The Nature of Modern History provides teachers an opportunity to develop their own case studies in order to get students thinking about how history is interpreted, represented, understood, and analysed. In our new Year 11 Resource Pack, the Sydney Jewish Museum Education Department has formulated five Holocaust-focused case studies for each of the dot-points in this unit:
- The Investigation of Historic Sites and Sources
Case Study: Judenaktion at Serniki - The Contestability of the Past
Case Study: Heydrich’s Schnellbrief - The Construction of Modern Histories
Case Study: The Use of Propaganda - History and Memory
Case Study: Memories of Treblinka - The Representation and Commemoration of the Past
Case Study: Post-War Holocaust Memorialisation
Each case study is fully worked for your classroom and assessment, including historical information, primary sources, secondary sources, classroom activities, and essay questions. In addition to easing your planning of year 11, these case studies provide useful additional knowledge for the new year 12 core unit Power and Authority in the Modern World.
