Wednesday Lecture: Counting Teeth – Humour in the Rabbinic Literature

N/A

25 November 2015

1-2:30pm

Free

We might not always think of them as funny, but the rabbis were no strangers to the use of humour. By looking at different jokes in the Mishna and the Talmud, Dr Simon Holloway will provide an insight into what made the rabbis and their students laugh, and will consider the role that both verbal and physical comedy played in the development of this religion.

The Museum’s Wednesday Lecture series provides a valuable opportunity for our volunteer guides and Museum Members to  to expand their skills and understanding of the Holocaust.
