Teacher Training Seminar – New Perspectives: Teaching the Holocaust in Australian Classrooms

This two-day professional development seminar is offered in two streams: one stream offers teachers a chronological exploration of key themes and historical events, and the other addresses the content points of the HSC Modern History Core Study: Power and Authority in the Modern World 1919–1946: The Nazi regime to 1939.

Participants are welcome to move from stream to stream throughout the program, and will gain in-depth knowledge of Holocaust history, practical teaching strategies and approaches to handling confronting material with sensitivity. This seminar is run twice a year, and at both offerings participants will have the opportunity to hear testimony from Holocaust survivors.

The seminar includes copies of the lectures, teacher resources to assist in classroom teaching as well as morning tea and lunch.
