A Bar and Bat Mitzvah is an incredibly special time for Jewish children and their families to share — a significant milestone and a rite of passage.
This new program introduces children preparing for their Bar and Bat Mitzvah, together with their parents, to moving stories of what this rite of passage means to Holocaust survivors.
Together, in a three-hour session in the Museum, families will hear about how some survivors practiced their Judaism in hiding during the Holocaust, and how others celebrated this significant event decades after the war.
The program encourages parents and children to think about how meaningful this milestone is.
