Product Description
The Destruction of Memory is a documentary based on the book The Destruction of Memory by Robert Bevan, which looks at the issue of cultural destruction and genocide.
It explores a wide ranging narrative, but the core argument concerns Lemkin’s concept of cultural genocide which emerged before the Holocaust, but was solidified because of the cultural decimation of Jewish patrimony in Europe.
Interviewees in the movie include Daniel Libeskind and sites such as the Jewish Museum Berlin are looked at as well as the synagogue in Dresden. Click here for more information on the movie and to view a trailer.
