Documentary screening – Following Shira’s Journey: A Greek Jewish Odyssey

N/A

Sunday 10th December at 4pm

In connection with our exhibition The Jews of Greece, we will be screening the documentary Following Shira’s Journey: A Greek Jewish Odyssey.

Carol Gordon the filmmaker will host a Q&A after the screening.

It was a passion to tell the unknown story of the Jews of Greece that led Carol Gordon to devote nearly 30 years researching the experiences of Greece’s Jewish population during the Second World War and its near destruction during the Holocaust.

Carol and a small crew travelled to Greece in September 2013 to shoot the documentary, which is edited and co-directed by Greek Australian Natalie Cunningham. The documentary examines the history of the Greek Jewish communities who have called Greece home for over two thousand years. The film also explores the Holocaust experiences of these communities as well as their life in Greece today.

The duration of the documentary is 52 minutes and is in Greek and English with English subtitles.

Booking is essential. Buy tickets here online or call 9360 7999.

Tickets $15 per person and include Museum entry.
