Shahar Burla and Dashiel Lawrence launch their new work Australia and Israel: A Diasporic, Cultural and Political Relationship. Journalist Michael Visontay will host a Q&A with the editors following the launch.

The collection examines the historic and contemporary relationship between Australia and Israel; two very different nations, that nevertheless share an abiding connection. While their  strategic, cultural and economic interests lie in separate regions, Australia is home to the most Zionist centered Jewish diaspora globally.

Shahar Burla holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Hebrew University and a PhD from Bar-Ilan University.Dashiel Lawrence is a doctoral graduate of the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies, University of Melbourne. Michael Visontay is a journalist, author and former senior editor at the Sydney Morning Herald and was a columnist with the Jewish News for several years. .
