Lanzmann’s Shoah is generally regarded as a landmark documentary that shifted the discussion about the Holocaust around the globe. The nine and half hour documentary has been hailed by critics as a masterpiece, while other critics have dismissed it as a polemic devoid of real historical substance.
This panel will screen several short scenes from the documentary and discuss their individual responses to Lanzmann’s documentary and its enduring legacy.
This lecture will be given by Dr Avril Alba, Professor Michael Robertson, Marie Bonardelli and Dr Ari Lander.
Booking not required.
